Irish travellers flying from Belfast Airport
05.03.09
Belfast International Airport is the wise choice for travellers flying in and out of Ireland. The airport claims that passenger numbers have gone up in the wake of the increase in value of the euro, with ‘savvy’ flyers looking to make savings by paying for their travel in sterling.
The airport also says that the current economic climate is also helping its popularity, with hotel breaks and flights proving cheaper due to VAT reductions. Uel Hoey, the airport's business development director, said: ‘In these times of economic doom and gloom people value their holidays to an even greater extent and many travellers, who would have previously chosen to fly from Dublin, are finding that they can avail of massive savings by flying from Belfast.'
