Thales signs UK airport radar contracts

Thales UK has announced that it has signed contracts with Belfast International and Cardiff airports for the supply, installation and maintenance of a surveillance radar system. The installation will include two solid-state radars and Eurocat air-traffic control (ATC) systems.
The Thales STAR 2000 primary-surveillance radar and co-mounted RSM 970 S Mode S MSSR secondary-surveillance radar will feed data into the Thales Eurocat-C ATC centre. Belfast International and Cardiff airports are owned by Abertis Airports.
