New training initiative at Aberdeen Airport

A new initiative to develop training opportunities for industry leaders is to begin at Aberdeen Airport. The course, aimed at giving managers and leaders a better understanding of the behaviours and trust required to lead within a safety culture, is offered by leadership consultants On Purpose and has been co-designed with BAA Aberdeen's Fire Service.
Those attending will first go through an in-depth theoretical element in a class-room based study course. They will then use these new skills on the fire-training ground where they will have to demonstrate their teamwork and leadership skills, fighting simulated training fires. The organisers hope that the unique practical element will help to reinforce what those attending have learned and enable them to take it back into their workplace.
