Helicopter emergency at Scatsta Airport
23.02.09
A full emergency was declared at Scatsta Airport today after the pilot of a helicopter with 21 people on board reported a fuel leak, the Daily Record reports. The S-92 aircraft was carrying 19 offshore workers and two crew from the Brent oilfield to the Shetland airport when it encountered the problem. Emergency services were called to the airport but the helicopter landed safely and no one was injured.
The incident comes five days after 18 oil workers were rescued when a Super Puma helicopter ditched in the North Sea around 125 miles east of Aberdeen.
