Scottish airports suffer knock on effects of English airport woes
21.12.10
Air passengers in Scotland have been hit by the knock-on effect of airport closures in England, despite Scottish runways staying open. Aberdeen Airport said about a quarter of its flights were cancelled yesterday, because of the weather disrupting Heathrow and other airports. Glasgow and Edinburgh airports also had many delays and cancellations.
Despite heavy snow, particularly in the north east, Scotland has not been as badly affected as it was by the weather two weeks ago.
Aberdeen Airport warned passengers that severe disruption would continue today, as Heathrow will only accept a third of its schedule flights, with short haul routes badly affected.
