UK airport operator BAA has announced that Derek Provan will take up the role of managing director at Aberdeen Airport from next month. Mr Provan joined the company as a firefighter in 1998, and has worked in a number of roles at Glasgow Airport including airfield operations manager, head of security and terminal operations and, most recently, customer services director.
Mr Provan is currently working at Stansted Airport as the interim operations director. He said: ‘I am delighted to be appointed to this role, taking my place within a strong team and an equally strong business. I look forward to building on the good work that has already been undertaken providing great service to our passengers and our airline partners.'
Aberdeen’s former managing director Kevin Brown left at the end of July to take up the same post at Edinburgh Airport.
