Aberdeen Airport expansion briefing sessions
21.01.06
The development of Aberdeen Airport will come under the spotlight as a series of community drop-in sessions get underway next week. The information sessions are designed to give local people the chance to discuss Aberdeen Airport's 25-year Master Plan with airport management.
The draft planning document details how the airport will develop between now and 2030 and the impact it will have on tourism, jobs, investment and the environment. An extra 4000 jobs are expected to be created as the airport grows to handle as many as 5.3 million passengers a year by 2030.
The plans for Aberdeen were revealed late last year. Since then, Aberdeen Airport has been contacting local residents, community councils, business leaders and politicians as part of an extensive consultation process. Local residents are being invited to drop-in sessions to learn more about the Master Plan and to give their views.
Drop-in sessions will be held in Dyce and in several communities across the area, with members of the BAA Aberdeen Airport team on hand to answer any questions and discuss the plans in detail.
