Flybe considering Aberdeen expansion
19.11.08
Flybe is considering launching four new routes from Aberdeen Airport. Chief commercial officer Mike Rutter told the Press & Journal that the airline was looking at three possible additions to domestic services and an international route.
He would not name the destinations involved, but the newspaper suggests that the three domestic routes could be Cardiff, Norwich and Manchester. Internationally, Flybe is also believed to be looking at a Norwegian service, either to Stavanger or Bergen.
Mr Rutter, was at the airport yesterday to celebrate Flybe’s first Aberdeen flight crewed entirely by staff based in the City. He told the newspaper that the current economic environment meant the company had to take a cautious approach to future expansion.
