Emergency landing at Aberdeen Airport

A plane made an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Aberdeen Airport this morning. A full emergency was declared after the pilot reported smelling smoke in the cockpit of the aircraft.
The BMI Embraer 145, which was heading to Birmingham, had only just departed from the airport. The plane landed safely back at Aberdeen Airport at about 08:45, with emergency crews on standby. Engineers are inspecting the plane to identify the problem.
