Aberdeen Airport shuttle bus to take off this week
14.12.08
A shuttle bus service from Aberdeen Airport to Dyce Station will be launched this week, the Press & Journal reports The service, which aims to improve transport links to the airport, will operate between the north-east gateway and the station from Monday.
A bus service has previously operated on the route, but this was withdrawn in 2001. The new Airlink service has been launched by regional transport body Nestrans alongside Aberdeen City Council and First Aberdeen. It is tailored to fit in with First ScotRail’s new train timetable for the city and Aberdeenshire.
The Airlink will run from 06:45until 19:38 from Monday to Friday, and will travel through the Kirkhill Industrial Estate. It is hoped that Dyce residents working in the industrial estate will use the bus service rather than taking their car.
To encourage use of the service, introductory fares have been set at £1 for a single journey, £2 for a return and £10 for a weekly ticket.
