Aberdeen Airport cameras 'tampered with'

Security cameras at Aberdeen Airport may have been tampered with just a few days before the terror attack on Glasgow Airport. An airport spokesman confirmed yesterday that a number of cameras used to monitor traffic at the terminal building appear to have been moved just four days before the failed car bomb attack in Glasgow.
There are four cameras which monitor traffic going into the airport. However, they are not monitored at all times and it was thought the incident was not detected until after the failed attacks.
Grampian Police, who are investigating the potential tampering of the cameras, said there was nothing to indicate any connection to the events in London and Glasgow, but that this could not yet be ruled out.
Grampian Police control room inspector Ian Swan said: 'We are investigating the possibility that security cameras on Argyll Road at Aberdeen Airport were tampered with between 08:00 and 12:30 on Tuesday June 26. The position of the cameras is such that a ladder or vehicle would be required to access them.'
An airport spokesman said: 'The airport is aware of a police investigation into a traffic monitoring system. We cannot say any more as the police are investigating it.'
Airport staff and taxi drivers are being asked for help with the investigation.
