An oil worker who dropped his trousers while drunk on a plane has been fined a total of £3000.
Ryan Gunn, 35, of Wick, was on a flight to Aberdeen Airport from Las Palmas chartered by his employer in November. He admitted dropping his trousers, exposing his buttocks, and walking up and down the aisle. Co-accused Hugh MacLeod, 23, of Tain, admitted being drunk on board the aircraft and was fined £1500 at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
The incident happened on a Boeing 737 carrying 55 passengers on November 4 last year. It was chartered by Petrolia Drilling from the company Astraeus. Six oil workers were arrested when they landed at Aberdeen Airport after the captain called in air traffic control about the incident.
Sheriff Douglas Cusine said he had taken into account the fact they had spent the weekend in custody after landing at Aberdeen Airport.
Four other passengers were charged with being drunk on board an aircraft and shouting and singing. They were also alleged to have failed to obey the captain's orders to remain in their seats and fasten their seatbelts and one was charged with grabbing a member of the cabin crew and touching her leg. Their not guilty pleas were accepted.
