New brand for Aberdeen to be taken up by the airport

Glasgow is miles better, Dundee is the City of Discovery, but it has been argued the North East was lacking a certain something when it came to image. According to the cities backers, the solution is 'Aberdeen City and Shire, A Brighter Outlook'.
The slogan is the culmination of months of research by a team from both local authorities, business leaders and Scottish Enterprise. The new brand cost £150,000 and was funded by the City Growth Fund. It is hoped it will be used to sell the city worldwide.
A brighter outlook was chosen to reflect the character of the region, and reflect the modest nature of its inhabitants. The firm tasked with capturing the concept in just three words say more boastful claims would not have found public support.
The new identity was welcomed by business leaders attending the launch. Aberdeen Airport say they will be using the brand to encourage more airlines to operate out of the city.
Unfortunately some locals have not taken to the slogan. Some have already changed it to 'Aberdeen City and Shire, Sheep for Hire', whilst others are wondering if visitors will expect to meet Frodo in Aberdeen.
