21.03.11
Ryanair has moved its flights from Trapani Airport in Sicily as a result of the military action in Libya. In a statement on its website, the airline said it had been advised by the airport that from today, it will be closed to all civilian traffic for an indefinite period.
All Ryanair flights scheduled to travel to and from Trapani, on the south western tip of Sicily, after 07:00 this morning will operate out of Palermo Airport, which is about 60 miles from Trapani and is the islands main airport. It has posted a list of the affected flights on its website, including its Stansted route.
Ryanair said that it 'sincerely apologises for this last minute change of airport which is outside of our control.'
