Emergency at Southampton Airport

Emergency services were on alert after a plane heading for Southampton Airport reported trouble as it came into this morning. The alarm was raised after the Flybe plane travelling from Jersey reported problems with its undercarriage.
Police were called at 10:58 and had cars on standby close to Junction five at Eastleigh with a view to closing the motorway. Fire fighters and paramedics also went to the scene as a precaution however the plane landed safely at 11:06.
