Southampton Airport wins customer service award

Southampton Airport has received an award for customer service by the Airports Council International (ACI). The hub has been named European winner for the ACI Airport People Award 2008.
In a poll voted for by passengers, based on the results of almost 200,000 questionnaires, the Airport Service Quality Survey found Southampton to be one of the best performing airports in terms of customer care. It was picked for having the most courteous and helpful airport, airline and security staff.
Chris Butler, managing director of Southampton Airport, said: ‘This award is a true reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone here at the airport, and I would like to thank and congratulate each and every staff member for their personal contribution.'
Southampton also came fifth in the best European airport table, and the ACI named Aberdeen Airport the most improved hub of all the world's airports. Incheon airport in Seoul, South Korea, was the best airport worldwide, followed by Hong Kong and Singapore airports, whilst the top hub in Europe was Oporto in Portugal.
