Southampton Airport passengers up 18.5%

Passenger numbers at Southampton Airport were up by 18.5 percent in April, boosted by the later Easter getaways (and a lower comparative because of the ash cloud crisis last April). The airport handled 143,700 passengers in April 2011. However the numbers of passengers passing through the airport between May 2010 and April 2011 were down 1.5 percent on a year earlier at 1.74 million.
