Southampton Airport targets business passengers

Southampton Airport has launched a campaign to attract business travellers from the executive heartlands of Surrey and Berkshire. The airport says that it can provide a viable alternative to Heathrow for short-haul business passengers living along the M3 corridor. A poster campaign based on the slogan ‘It’s my airport’ begins this month, highlighting the airport's good rail connections and the 60 second walk from train station to terminal.
The airport currently attracts two million passengers, 40% of whom are travelling on business. However, managers believe it has a potential catchment of 7.6 million people within a 90-minute journey. The campaign will feature journey times of less than an hour’s drive from Bracknell and Camberley and 65 minutes’ from Guildford.
Jan Halliday, director of marketing and communications, said: ‘With around 50 destinations and excellent road and rail links, heading south can often be a much quicker door to door experience with less stress.'
