Southampton Airport staff aim to send charity appeal sky high

THE 1,200 members of staff at Southampton Airport pulled out all the stops in a bid to send a charity appeal soaring sky high.
Employees at the Eastleigh terminal held their very own Daisy Day to raise money for the Wessex Cancer Trust.
The special event was organised as part of the BBC Daisy Appeal, which aims to raise £1m for the charity by next April.
There was fun and frolics aplenty with Radio Solent presenter Mike Powell broadcasting his morning show live from the airport.
Highlights included a visit from Daisy the Cow who grazed in the airport terminal, a sponsored row by a local fire crew, a guess the baby competition, a flight auction and a live performance by The Clean Briefs, who have released a charity single in honour of the appeal.
Appropriately themed daisy cakes, biscuits and packets of seeds were also snapped up to boost the charity's coffers even further.
