Robin Hood Airport masterplan update
18.09.08
A draft masterplan outlining the future of Robin Hood Airport is unlikely to result in radical change over the next decade. With heavy losses expected until 2010, management say the focus is on long-term development.
Owners Peel Holdings presented an update on plans for future development to Doncaster Council's economy and enterprise panel last week. Proposals include plans for a large-scale freight integration site, expanded aviation training centre, two further housing developments and additional community facilities. A potential plot for a second four-star hotel and golf course has also been identified.
The 250-page draft masterplan is expected to be published early next month. It will be followed by a three month public consultation.
