Plane breakdown shuts Robin Hood Airport
10.12.10
Flights were suspended at Robin Hood Airport yesterday after an aircraft suffered a mechanical failure and came off the runway whilst taxiing yesterday. The private jet had flown in from Luton Airport, but suffered a problem with its right undercarriage following a normal landing.
The incident happened at approximately 10:30. Fire and Rescue services stationed at the airport attended the Citation 10 executive jet but were soon to stand down and the two crew on board were both uninjured.
An investigation in to the incident has been launched, with an airport spokesman suggesting that there appeared to have been a problem with the jet's right undercarriage.
