Prestwick Airport passengers down 18%

122,345 passengers passed through Prestwick Airport in March, 18% less than a year ago but in line with recent trends. Freight volumes for March were 927 tonnes which is a 32% reduction on the prior year however a slight increase (1.7%) on February's figures.
In the 12 months to the end of March the airport had 1,713,885 passengers, 26% down on the previous period. Freight of 12,499 tonnes was 34% down. The summer schedule started on March 28 with good load factors and strong forward bookings, the airport said.
