Passengers and Freight up at Prestwick Airport

Prestwick Airport had 168,000 passengers in December, 7,000 (or 4%) higher than in the same month a year earlier. Scheduled passengers were up 7% to 164,730 and non scheduled passengers up 12% to 3238.
In the year to the end of December the airport handled 2,404,250 passengers, up 1% on 2006, with scheduled passengers up 2% to 2,256,988 and non scheduled passengers down 8% to 147,253.
Freight volume in December was 2,836 tonnes, a 14% increase on prior year. In the year to the end of December freight volume was 31,574 tonnes, a 9% increase on the prior year total.
