Prestwick Airport closed by security alert

A police operation has been launched after a Ryanair plane was diverted to Glasgow Prestwick Airport following a security alert. The airport, which is around 30 miles from Glasgow, was closed for more than two hours because of the incident.
It is understood that a Ryanair plane travelling from Paris to Dublin had to be diverted to Prestwick. No flights were able to leave Prestwick as the incident continued, while flights due to land were being diverted to other airports.
