Oxford Airport - Jersey flights to return
07.01.10
CI Travel Group has confirmed that it will operate its summer service between Oxford Airport and Jersey in 2010. The re-introduction of the service is a result of the success of the summer 2009 Saturday afternoon flights.
Robert Mackenzie, Managing Director of CI Travel Group, said: ‘Following a successful first year of operation where we saw 93% of seats sold, we are delighted to be able to offer an extended season of operation for the Oxford Jersey route in 2010. With flights operating in May and June, as well as in the high season, it will provide opportunities for those who prefer to travel outside of school holidays to enjoy the island in the spring and early summer.’
Direct flights between Oxford and Jersey will start on May 22 and operate an extended summer season until September 11. The flights will be operated by Cityjet/VLM with a 50-seat Fokker 50 aircraft.
Forward bookings on the route are already ahead of CI Travel Group’s 22 other UK airports operating to the Channel Islands. Oxford Airport also achieved the best passenger ratings for satisfaction when compared to the other regional airports in 2009.
For a limited period, CI Travel is offering no increase on Summer 2009 prices for airfares or package holidays including hotels. Seat only prices start from just £150 return (subject to availability) inclusive of all baggage, taxes and fees.
