New airline to launch Norwich – Alicante flights

Travellers using Norwich Airport will soon be able to fly directly to Spain, as a new route is set to be unveiled the Norwich Evening News reports. Airport director Richard Jenner has confirmed new direct services from Norwich to Alicante are to begin in the near future in a deal with an unnamed new airline.
Mr Jenner told the newspaper that the airport had reached an agreement with the carrier but would not be revealing its identity until an official announcement at the end of the week. The news comes after the airport's main airline, Flybe, axed further flights this month, having scrapped its Spanish flights to Alicante and Malaga last July, blaming a £3 terminal charge levied on passengers.
