Ryanair announce Shannon – Newcastle flights

Ryanair will launch flights between Shannon and Newcastle Airport from November, Michael O'Leary said today. The airline will base a sixth aircraft in Shannon in a $70m investment that will allow them to launch new routes to Frankfurt-Hahn and Newcastle and 26 more weekly frequencies to destinations including Bristol, Edinburgh and Paris.
But to allow for the new routes and additional frequencies, the airline's Shannon - East Midland route will be stopped and frequencies on the Shannon - Luton route will be reduced, effective from October 31.
