Newcastle Airport charter flights most punctual

Newcastle Airport boasts the UK's best punctuality record for holiday charter flights, according to the latest figures from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). 85% of all charter flights departed on time from the airport in the first quarter of 2009, compared with a national average of 68%
Scheduled flights from the airport also outperformed the national average, with 82% departing on time between January and March this year. This represents a significant improvement in flight punctuality to the same period last year. Delays were also kept to a minimum in the first quarter of the year, with the average length of delay to charter flights less than half that of the 10 other surveyed airports.
