Emirates appoint Servisair at Newcastle Airport

Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of Emirates Airline, has appointed Servisair Cargo as its cargo handling partner at Newcastle Airport, ahead of the launch of its new flights to Dubai on September 1.
A team of Servisair Cargo personnel will support the daily flight from Newcastle, which will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 with around 14 tonnes of cargo carrying capacity. The move will support a number of jobs in Servisair Cargo's team at the airport.
Emirates SkyCargo will also establish its own team at the airport, to oversee the daily operation and work closely with freight forwarders across the region. A Cargo Supervisor and a Customer Services Agent will be recruited, to boost the number of Emirates' personnel based at the airport to 12.
Servisair Cargo, which also works Emirates at its other UK airports, operates a dedicated trucking network across the UK for Emirates. This will enable freight forwarders to send their consignments to Newcastle Airport from more distant points in the region such as Durham Tees Valley, Doncaster, Humberside and Leeds Bradford.
Emirates SkyCargo's daily service from Newcastle to Dubai will also give freight forwarders access to an onward network of over 80 destinations across five continents, including major cities in the Far East, South East Asia, Australasia, the Indian sub-continent, the Middle East and Africa.
