Roadworks near Newcastle Airport

A series of roadworks are under way around Newcastle Airport, which could affect passengers journeys. During the first phase of the works the Highways Agency will be replacing and improving road markings and installing new signs on the A696 Newcastle Airport roundabout overnight, between 20:00 and 06:00, until March 14.
There will be lane and carriageway closures on the approach to the airport during this phase, with diversions and convoy systems in place at various times. However, the airport access road and B6918 will be open at all times. The second phase will see the resurfacing two sections of Prestwick roundabout overnight between March 14 and 16.
