Freight forwarder Woodland International Transport is backing plans to boost freight capacity at Manchester Airport.
The airport has submitted plans to increase the existing World Freight Terminal by 50 percent, creating an additional 250,000 sq ft. It is also in talks to construct a new 1.5 million sq ft freight terminal close to the airport, which will be called Manchester Airport Logistics Park and dedicated mainly to airfreight.
Kinga Garner, manager of the Woodland office in Manchester, said: ‘We are pleased that the management at Manchester Airport have realised the importance of airfreight, which reflects a healthy import and export market, strengthened by an increase in overseas manufacturing.'
