Manchester Airport online ‘travel extras’ store
29.04.10
Manchester Airport today announced an innovative new element to its commercial services by launching an online 'Travel Extras Store'. The holiday extras market - including airport parking, hotels and pay-as-you-go lounges - is estimated to be worth around £5 billion, and the airport believes it can generate significant revenues from the sector - not that it isn't already.
Four out of five travellers buy some sort of airport extra once they have booked holidays, and the airport already offers products such as car parking via its website. The first phase of the launch includes a new lounge, the opportunity to book private jet flights and overseas assistance packages.
More products are planned for later in the year as it works towards offering 'a comprehensive one-stop solution for travellers.' This will include car hire and hotel booking, flights, holidays and ‘park, stay and fly’ which will include a hotel stay and car parking the night before travel.
