Manchester Airport prepares for busiest weekend
18.07.08
Up to 315,000 passengers are expected to travel via Manchester Airport this weekend. The weekend will be its busiest this year as thousands fly out for their summer holidays.
New security screening areas in Terminals 1 and 2 and state-of-the-art X-ray equipment will help speed up the security screening process and cut down on queues. Manchester Airport’s director of customer services and security, Mike Fazackerley, said: ‘We have new facilities, additional staff and have provided additional training for existing staff to make sure everyone is ready for this, the busiest time of the year.’
He said that the most popular destinations for summer 2008 are Majorca, Tenerife, Alicante, Portugal, Cyprus and New York.
