Fuel protest near Manchester airport
18.07.08
Protesters angry about rising fuel prices plan to drive in convoy from Lymm Services along the M56 into Manchester city centre starting at 09:00 tomorrow. The protest is expected to cause delays on roads around Manchester Airport and the southern outskirts of the city centre.
The protesters are calling on the government to cut duty so that petrol comes down to £1 per litre and diesel to £1.10. Greater Manchester Police is liaising with Britain’s Revolting, the protest group.
