Flybe announce Manchester – Bournemouth flights
12.02.10
Flybe is to launch a year-round six times a week service between Manchester and Bournemouth on May 27, with fares from £24.99 one way including taxes and charges. The regional budget airline has a large base at Southampton Airport, whereas Ryanair is the biggest airline at Bournemouth, so it will be interesting to see how this develops.
Flybe’s chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said: ‘We’re delighted to be adding this new destination to our extensive choice of regional services. It not only reflects our commitment to continued growth at Manchester Airport where we are the largest scheduled airline but also our development into new regions. Our new Bournemouth route will be especially convenient to those living and working in the more westerly counties of the South Coast, so extending further our extensive regional presence.’
Manchester Airport commercial director Andrew Harrison said: ‘This route to Bournemouth not only extends our network across the UK but connects us to our sister airport for the first time. This new route to a popular holiday town also offers our passengers a fastest connection to the surrounding Dorset resorts.’
