Thomas Cook hire children’s entertainers at Manchester Airport

Children waiting to fly off on their summer holidays from Manchester Airport are being helped to beat boredom by a team of entertainers. Four trained performers are entertaining youngsters at check-in desks to help keep them happy while they wait to board flights.
The entertainers will be out in force in Terminal One departures every day from 06:00 - noon until September 3. They have been hired by Thomas Cook Airlines in a unique scheme running at Manchester Airport. The 'airlines squad' perform magic tricks, illusions and songs in a bid to beat stress and boredom, and keep children busy while queuing at departures.
Ian Derbyshire, chief executive of Thomas Cook UK and Ireland, said: ‘Our airport entertainment is a completely unique concept that isn’t offered by any other airline. We want every element of our customers’ holidays to be enjoyable and stress-free, so with the help of our performers, we can ensure that parents can focus on getting through the airport and on to their flights as easily as possible, without the children playing up.’
Andrew Cornish, Manchester Airport's managing director, backed the scheme and said it would help to make passengers' journeys more enjoyable.
