New floor at Manchester Airport in a weekend
07.09.08
Specialist flooring company Flowcrete has installed a bespoke floor in just one weekend at a new £10 million development at Manchester Airport.
Contractors for the Sandbach firm applied its Flowfast Terrosso product - which is ready for use two hours after installation - across 27,000 sq ft of the airport's new security search area at Terminal 1.
Staff created a special design featuring a mixture of blues, silvers and glitter that is designed to make the most of light and withstand heavy footfall - around 15,000 passengers travel through the security search area every day.
Tony Fleming, of Manchester Airport's architects Aedas, said: ‘We wanted something completely different for the airport, in a style which had not been used before. We are pleased with the end result and it fits perfectly with Manchester Airport's vision of a clean, simple and inviting environment for Terminal 1.’
