Two emergency landings at Manchester Airport

Two Thomas Cook jets packed with holidaymakers were forced to make emergency landings at Manchester Airport yesterday morning after warning faults were reported.
The drama started when the 09:18 Thomas Cook flight TCX452K from Glasgow to Tenerife was diverted to the airport with an air pressure problem within the cabin. The second jet forced to divert to Manchester, flight TCX355K, had set off from Leeds Bradford Airport at 10:20 bound for the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. It reported an engine fault.
Both planes had landed safely by 10:35 and were met on the runway by a fleet of fire and emergency service crews. Passengers were escorted to the terminal, but both planes were later able to continue their journeys.
