Passenger makes impromptu broadcast after 24 hour delay

A furious holidaymaker grabbed a public address microphone ay Manchester Airport and vented her anger to everyone at the boarding gates after a 24-hour delay, the Manchester Evening News reports. The woman was one of almost 300 people who had been due to fly to Cuba with Thomas Cook from the airport yesterday morning.
After taking off an hour late at 09:45 their plane developed a technical fault and returned to Manchester. The passengers were eventually put up in airport hotels at 16:00 before being 'dragged' from their beds at 03:00 this morning, only to find the replacement flight was still in the hangar and would not be ready for boarding for another four hours.
Furious passengers told the newspaper that little information was coming from representatives of the airline, and the mood became mutinous. A female passenger then took matters into her own hands and began an impromptu broadcast to parts of Terminal 1 after getting hold of a microphone at one of the gates nearby.
Another passenger told the MEN: ‘Everyone could hear her, it was actually quite funny in a bizarre way after all that had happened. There were airport staff running around everywhere trying to find her and stop her.'
She was complaining about the dreadful treatment we had received and repeating 'we want a rep from Thomas Cook here now! One had already put the phone down on us but this got their attention. We were then moved to another boarding lounge.’
‘I can understand yesterday was a technical fault and nobody's fault but this morning was somebody's fault. We were dragged from our beds at 03:00 and the plane wasn't even ready to leave. It's disgraceful.’
The flight to Holguin on the Caribbean island finally took off just after 08:00 . Both the airline and the airport told the newspaper that they have no record of any passenger using the public address system.
