Busiest ever month for Luton Airport

Record passenger performance saw Luton Airport handle 1,095,956 passengers during August, the busiest month in the Airport’s history. This represented an increase of 2.6% on the previous year.
Bucking the trend for the major London airports, a spokesman said that growth is expected to continue with nine new services still to launch in 2008, including further routes to France, Italy, Poland, Romania and Lithuania from Ryanair and Wizz Air alongside new services to the Benelux region with Luton's newest airline Transavia.
Natalie Raper, Marketing Director of Luton Airport, said, ‘Achieving record passenger traffic in the current economic climate is fantastic performance. We are committed to continual development in order to meet the needs of our passengers and airline partners and these results demonstrate that we are achieving this.'
