Stelios to issue new easyJet demands
14.11.11
easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou will issue a new list of demands to the budget airline this week, saying he will vote to expel directors unless the company makes a raft of policy changes, the Sunday Times reported yesterday.
Citing a letter sent by Sir Stelios to the airline's chairman, Sir Michael Rake and other main shareholders, the newspaper says that he has called on the airline to more than double the dividend to 50% of earnings, give shareholders a vote on all new aircraft orders, pledge the next aircraft order will be a three-way tender with sealed bids between Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier and publish the profitability of each aircraft instead of profits per route.
He also accuses Sir Michael of trying to turn his brother and shareholder, Polys Haji-Ioannou, against him, the newspaper adds.
