Luton Airport launch photography competition
10.03.11
Luton Airport is backing the Luton City Status bid by hosting an online photography competition, with £500 worth of travel vouchers as the prize. Passengers flying from Luton Airport during March or April are being invited to pick up a commemorative bid t-shirt from Cotton Traders in the terminal, show their support for Luton by wearing the t-shirt at their destination and submit a photo.
The photos will initially be judged by the Luton Airport Facebook community, who will create a shortlist for an independent judging panel to select the best one, who will be awarded £500 in travel vouchers.
Glyn Jones, Managing Director of Luton Airport and Co-Chair of the Luton City Status Bid said: ‘We are 100% behind Luton’s City Status Bid and with the town linked to 93 destinations from its airport we wanted to spread the news far and wide. A fun way to achieve this is by asking our passengers to take a photo of themselves wearing a ‘Love Luton’ T-shirt whilst visiting any of the Airport’s destinations and posting them online for the world to see.’
Luton is one of the largest and fastest growing towns in Britain and has the opportunity to compete for city status as part of the celebrations to mark the Queen’s 60th Jubilee in 2012. The competition opens today (March 10), and photos can be submitted until April 30. For more information visit: www.facebook.com/LondonLutonAirport
