easyJet passengers down 0.4%

easyJet saw its first passenger decline since April 2010 and the ash cloud crisis last month. Its passengers fell by 0.4 percent to 3.73m in January compared to 3.74m in the same month last year. Despite lower traffic figures, its load factor was up from 78.9 to 81.9 percent.
In the year to the end of January its passenger numbers were up by 10 percent to 55.46m. The budget airline has kept its capacity flat over the winter to reflect weaker consumer confidence.
