easyJet passengers up 20%

easyJet passenger numbers rose 20% in July, with its load factor also up slightly. The airline carried 4,467,268 passengers last month, compared with 3,723,004 in the same month last year.
The load factor, the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, increased 0.8 percentage points to 89.3%. Rival Ryanair reported passengers up 19% and a load factor down one percentage point to 89% earlier this week.
The budget airline carried 42 million passengers in the last 12 months, up 15.9% on the previous 12 months, with an average load factor down 0.4 percentage points to 83.5%.
