easyJet passengers and load factor up

easyJet increased the number of passengers it flew in September by 22.1 percent as travellers continued using budget airlines amid tough economic times.
Just under 4.2m passengers flew with the airline during the month, compared with 3.4m in September last year. The airline's load factor - a measure of how full its planes were - climbed to 86.9 percent from from 85.2 percent.
In the 12 months to the end of September easyjet flew 43.7m passengers, compared to 37.2m in the previous 12 months. Its average load factor was 84.1 percent, up from 83.7 percent.
(Note: September 2008 and 12 month figures include the effect of the acquisition of GB Airways earlier this year. The airline does not disclose these figures separately).
