SkyEurope reaches Luton Airport milestone
04.09.08
Eastern European airline SkyEurope has marked having flown more than 250,000 passengers out of Luton Airport in under ten months. The carrier reached the milestone with its services between Luton and Bratislava, Košice and Poprad in Slovakia, and Prague in the Czech Republic.
The airline, which was also recently named Eastern Europe's most popular low-cost operator at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, said that its flight popularity has been fuelled by a strong punctuality record, comfortable seats in its planes and cabin crew serving genuine espresso in-flight!
SkyEurope operates from a headquarters in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava and holds Europe's youngest fleet of 15 Boeing 737-700 aircraft. The airline intends to grow this to 32 planes by 2011 as part of a steady expansion programme to build on its success.
Natalie Raper, Luton Airport's marketing director, said: ‘We are delighted to reach this significant milestone with SkyEurope and look forward to working closely with the airline for further passenger growth. With these successful destinations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia we continue to serve the requirements of both the business and leisure traveller.'
