New prayer room at Luton Airport

Luton Airport has opened a new Multi Faith Prayer Room. It becomes only the second airport in the UK to provide such facilities beyond the Security Search area.
Open round the clock, to staff and departing passengers, the Prayer Room is located on the upper level of the Departure Lounge, adjacent to the Executive Lounges. Passengers can access it via the same entrance. Prayer mats and faith literature are provided, together with direction of prayer signs for those faiths that require them. Religious Washing Facilities and toilets are also available nearby.
The Airport Chaplaincy Team, led by The Revd. Michael Banfield, worked with the Airport Company and its contractors in the design and finishing of the Prayer Room and will care for the facility on a day to day basis, as it already does for the Airport Chapel.
The Prayer Room adds to the facilities provided by the Airport Chapel which is located near the Arrivals area and Onward Travel Centre - and is available to everyone. The Chapel is open between 04:00 and 23:00 hours daily to people of all faiths.
