Aer Arann to launch London City – IOM flights
23.11.08
Irish regional airline Aer Arann is to begin flying from the Isle of Man to London City Airport next year. It will launch the route on January 19.
The Isle of Man has had one flight a day to London City (operated by VLM) since the failure of EuroManx in May. Aer Arann will restore the weekday frequency to four flights a day, providing morning and evening services to enable Isle of Man travellers a full day in the capital.
Its three flights a day will be operated using a 72-seat ATR72-500, pending the aircraft’s certification. The airline is participating in a certification programme with the manufacturer, ATR, the Civil Aviation Authority and London City Airport for the new aircraft type to be approved use the Docklands airport.
