Liverpool Airport expects 120,000 Christmas getaway
22.12.08
Liverpool Airport is gearing up for the Christmas and New Year ‘Getaway’ with 120,000 passengers expected to pass through the terminal over the holiday period. The traditional seasonal rush is expected to start this weekend, and see passengers heading off on flights to seek winter sun, visit relatives, or enjoy festivities across Europe.
Airport director Andy Gower said: ‘Despite the current difficult economic climate, the choice of affordable flights to a wide variety of destinations from Liverpool means that we expect the Christmas and New Year period to once again be one of the busiest during the year. The most popular inbound and outbound destinations are expected to be Dublin, Paris and Amsterdam, winter sun favourites in southern Spain and the Canaries, and skiing via flights to Geneva and Milan.'
