Liverpool Airport owner considers Gatwick bid
20.09.08
The owner of Liverpool Airport is reported to be considering a joint bid for Gatwick Airport. Peel Airports Group is looking to form a consortium to bid for the London gateway, which became available when BAA put it up for sale this week, following the Competition Commission’s plans to break its dominance of the UK aviation market.
A Peel Airports spokesperson told one newspaper: ‘As an established UK airport operator, we can confirm Peel Airports has been approached by interested parties with a view to us participating as an operator and as a potential co-investor. We will review all options before making any decision on whether we proceed or not.’
